Chilly Day at Two Harbors Lighthouse
This sketch makes me chilly.... that was a cold brisk day.
If you've been to Two Harbors MN, then you've probably seen this structure. Not as well-known as the Two Harbors Lighthouse from which it sits across the bay or the Split Rock Lighthouse 20 miles up the north shore, this much smaller cousin stands atop the end of the east breakwater to the port. Originally just a lantern hanging from the top of a pole, this tower was finished in 1906 and remains active to this day.
Many a selfie is taken in front of this light after walking along the 1600 foot breakwater, a walk that can be quite slippery and adventurous in the winter - bring your YakTrax!
